jude
Not a report, but I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about the January 21st meeting at Gander Mountain at 7:00. Gregg Stockey will be talking about his book, we'll discuss '08 outings, the Blowout, sports shows, and generally BS about fishing. And we'll be raffling an ISA hat to hide that receding hair line! It's looking like a busy year. We're already planning two Kish float trips, an Apple trip, a Kish wade, and for a change of pace, Paul mentioned a Rock River wade. Have an idea for an outing or an conservation project? Bring it on Monday. Please chime in and let me know if you'll be joining us. See you Monday......Jude

Gregg S
Hey guys, Please try to turn out for the meeting. I'll be driving at least one hour each way to be there. Haven't seen Russ D in a while. Kevin Dahl, it would be nice to see you too. You are the guy who doubted my "literacy." I need a chance to prove it to you. (Just kidding..sort of.) So far it looks like Jude, Paul, Brian O' and me. who else is coming? Gregg
Paul Trybul
We'll have a lot to discuss: upcoming fishing shows, 5 NW regional fishing outings, Gregg's book, tips on buying the right river kayak, Sylvania trip, and we have an open forum for any smallmouth related questions. jude
NW winter meeting = snow. Has it always worked this way Paul? Oh well...it is mid January in Northern Illinois. I'll be there regardless. Hope these minor flurries don't scare anyone off.

The show must go on but use your best judgement while traveling. The NW regional also found out if you let Kevin Dells schedule a fishing outing 3-7 inches of rain are sure to fall a few days before. Scott Ferguson
Kevin could probably make good money traveling around to drought stricken areas planning fishing outings.
Gregg S
Thanks to everyone who came out on a snowy evening. We had a great turnout, and a spirited discussion that continued until they kicked us out of Gander. My snowy ride home took 2 hours. It does seem to snow everytime we have an event. jude
Kevin could probably make good money traveling around to drought stricken areas planning fishing outings. And we could probably charge ski resorts for having the NW meeting at their facilities. For a while I figured it was going to be just four or five of us, and with the weather, I wouldn't have been surprised. But guys just kept on trickling in, and I believe we had eleven guys show up. We were entertained by Gregg's talk, hit on a lot of good topics, and set the table for a great '08. Before we knew it, they were kicking us out into the snow. (Before we even had a chance to raffle a hat!) Thanks to everyone for braving the weather. Our next meeting will be in late March or early April, with better weather guaranteed (I hope.) We'll keep you posted.....Jude

Jim J
I agree. That's the most for a NW meeting and a long time. Let's build on that! I say offer free pizza at the next one and have another speaker to get guys going for spring fishing. Good job. Jim
