mikep Posted July 17, 2007 Report Share Posted July 17, 2007 Mon. evening on the kank. I witnessed a new fisherman catch a 8" smallmouth on a crankbait. As he tried to get the hooks out of the fish he realized the fish had been out of the water for a bit... he then put the fish back into the water for about 15 seconds before finally unhooking the fish!!! I commented to him that was a great idea he had just had!!! He said he had just read on a fishing forum that if you couldn't hold your breath before unhooking the fish... that you should place it back into the water so it may catch its breath!!!!
