I was on the Mike Norris Radio show on Thursday, and heard Dale Bowman state that they received a report that the state record smallmouth was hooked in Lake Michigan water. When asked what it looked like, the guy said "...a giant carp. If you saw it, there was no question whatsoever that it was a record". The current IL record is 6lbs- 7oz.
