Rob G
Hey guys, I saw this in about a foot or two of water today on the stream I was fishing. I have seen these in the past, always in the fall, but they were on rocks at the waters edge. They're about 5 inches long and and as thick as my little finger, looks like a Senko....Ha. Got any ideas what they are? I'm sure they would be a tasty treat for a smallie.
Eric
I think it's just a large millipede crawling underwater. I don't think they are truly aquatic, but can survive submerged for short periods of time. I sent the pic to my brother-in-law to see what he says about an ID. He's an aquatic biologist. Rob G
Thanks Eric, it did have numerous filamentous legs and seemed adept at crawly slowly on the bottom yet would be easy prey for most fish. I do not see them often but only on a couple streams I frequent.

John Gillio
Saw this on You-Tube. Don't know what it is though.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZbqYfNoWNM
Eric
Bro-in-law confirmed millipede and said it would be a juicy lunch for something. He said it probably fell into the water.
Mark K
Used to see big millipedes along with gigantor crawdads going for a stroll at Waterfall Glen. Perhaps they follow giant crawdads into water.
