Ryan Kral Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Hey guys, this is from the June edition of Outside Magazine. Pretty interesting read, but kind of a pain online. I've also read they are expecting a bad year because of all the early season moisture, which really helps kickstart the ticks. Anyways, thought some of you may find this interesting, because I know I have picked off my share of Ticks, mainly after walking the shores of the West Branch through some of the FP's. Ryan Quote
Dana Lee Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 They are bad this year. Shrooms are popping... Quote
Mike G Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Outside! is a name my dog would relate to. Not ticks however. The article is good but hard to get to without a link. http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/science/Feeding-Frenzy.html Don't let the sub-title Feeding Frenzy fool you into thinking it is about hot fishing. Ryan Kral Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 Thanks Mike! Didn't even realize I forgot the link! Ryan Quote
ronk Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 The best defense against ticks is a pair of waders. I used to fish Mazonia often known for its strong tick population & never even saw one thanks to them. Quote
Ryan Kral Posted May 11, 2013 Author Report Posted May 11, 2013 Yeah, I'm almost always in waders now, and when I'm in spots where I know they are thick, I try and stick to the water. Ryan Quote
