Terry Dodge Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Just doing a little jacking around. This is the first time I've done any tying since my eye surgery on Jan 26 of 2012. Keeping it simple. Quote
Rob G Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Looks like a fine popper party to me. Neat idea to use floating jig heads as well. I recently saw some really neat and simple poppers that skate across the top made out of these below. Btw, MikeG said that when you're done with those small pieces of yellow cylindrical foam that he'll whip up some Lefty's poppers from those so don't dispose of them Quote
Terry Dodge Posted March 1, 2013 Author Report Posted March 1, 2013 Have no idea what those floating jig heads will do but my pop was tossing them out so I thought I'd try something with them, just for the heck of it. Quote
Mike G Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Good to see you back at the bench ,Terry. Those look like they will catch both fishermen and fish. Hah! Rob, those aren't any old cylinders. They're earplugs. Best for stealth poppers that you can't hear. Thanks for thinking of me. Looks like a fine popper party to me. Neat idea to use floating jig heads as well. Guest Josh Glovinsky Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Nice Poppers! Not too much longer and you will be able to get out and throw 'em! Quote
Mike G Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Great minds run on the same track, I have heard. This confirms it. First there was Dave promoting this simple tie. http://www.warmwaterflyfisher.com/flymonth/FOTM012005.htm Then there was Bob's floating minnow. And we have Swami. Maybe this is a good as it gets! Guest rich mc Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 terry put some liquid fusion glue as a topping of the foam flexible and very clear you can add some sparkles too before it dries rich mc Quote
jude Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 And don't forget to remove the yellow foam things. Could cause casting and hook set issues. Quote
