BillKreznor Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Ran across this earlier today. Seems that state agencies are almost more interested in protecting their image, budgets, and turf than protecting the resource. http://www.pennlive....ble_over_s.html Bill K Quote
Jonn Graham Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 If the problem concerned trout or largemouth bass in a famous lake, something would have already been done. River smallmouth anglers do not spend enough money or have as much "weight" as trout fishermen (trout unlimited) or bass tourney guys. All about money....................not the resource. Same story, different river. Quote
Bart Durham Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Jonn, Wan't the Susquehanna on your bucket list of smallmouth fisheries to fish? I know its on mine. This is a shame and can hopefully be remedied. Makes me thankful to have seen all the healthy infant smallmouth in our local rivers this past summer and how fortunate we are to have thriving local smallmouth fisheries. Quote

Same story, different river. There is a Smallmouth Alliance in PA. Maybe we can give them some support. http://northbranchsmallmouthalliance.wordpress.com/category/nbsa-meetingsevents/That's another reason why we need a national SA. But we have traveled that road before. Quote
Jonn Graham Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 I would love to fish the Susky. Definitely on my list of places to fish someday before I perish. Only problem is my list is too long..............three lifetimes of places I want to go. I guess I should be happy to fish all the streams I already have fished.........close to 50 Quote
Jim J Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 The Susquhana is one of the main rivers our Blowout speaker Jeff Little fishes. He has caught some monsters there and I'm sure would some info on this. http://blueridgekayakfishing.com/index.html Quote
Bart Durham Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 "Fracking" is a controversial issue in Pennsylvania. I wonder is there is a correlation betweeen it and the recent Sesquahana smallmouth problem in the Pennsylvania waterway? Quote
