ronk Posted April 27, 2012 Report Share Posted April 27, 2012 There is a bill currently before the Senate(HB4652,The Clean Water Funding Act) which would require CAFOS to pay a permit fee to IEPA. Up until now the IEPA has had insufficient $ with which to properly monitor CAFO activities as it was required to do by the USEPA.The fee would help to alleviate that shortfall & enable the IEPA to lessen the free hand CAFOS have to pollute our waters.Please contact Senator Richard Durbin urging his support of the Bill.
