tgoodmanii Posted July 28, 2014 Report Share Posted July 28, 2014 It was a really nice way to help educate and expose the beauty of the Kish to the kids and their parents. Great job setting this up. As far as the fishing afterwards it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I caught 8 little smallmouth on the fly. It was only the second time I've fished that stretch of the Kish so it was a nice afternoon. That and fishing in the middle of the day may have contributed to the lack of fish. It was slow going until the last 30 mins of fishing. I tried several different flies and retrieves. Finally I figured it out. I put on a lightly weighted minnow pattern and stripped very aggressively and it was like turning on a switch. The smallies were going nuts. Ran out of time and had to get home.
