  1. Thanks for the thoughts. There was to much line on the spool. Took about half off and it worked well tonight. 2 fish on at a new place which is always a small victory
  2. any special technique when spooling it?
  3. After reading through various posts in the past I decided on trying out the Suffix 832 as it sounds very popular. What a frustrating night. I must be doing something wrong. About every third cast the line would snag and drop straight to the water. Lots of "birdnests" in my baitcaster. Do you guys reserve this line just for top water? I noticed less issues when using a buzz bait. Thoughts?
  4. I've been wet wading lately, mainly due to the lack of funds to buy waders, and have sought the cool relief of the water as my legs meet the water after crashing through the brush. looking forward to a good pair of waders
  5. you need to sell me your most basic, cheapest, used fly rod that exists so i can join you. I put that on you......personal accountability at its finest
  6. After a frustrating day out on a local river I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some fishing tips (lure selection) during this time of the year with the water so warm. I threw buzzbaits, swim jigs, pig n jig, various crankbaits and only had one bite on a mimic minnow. Fished the river three times in the past year out of my yak and I'm still yet to land a fish.
  7. Thanks for the info. when walking down the riverwalk i see lots of carp but not much SMB
  8. Hi Everyone, First post so please bare with me. I currently live in Naperville but am moving to Yorkville soon and I'm excited to fish the Fox. I'm thinking about getting in to wading but was wondering the legality of walking out in a river. For example, the west branch of the dupage river (the portion that goes through downtown Naperville), is it legal to wade this river? I have seen fish but have trouble finding a good shore location to fish from and was considering wet wading. Thanks for the tips and apologize if this question has been asked before
