  1. I did not get any nibbles on these fine FREE youth waders on the Smallmouth Board and I do not want them going to waste. I posted them up at windycityfishing and Buster from the Riverside fishing club will be able to use them for his son. Thanks for the opportunity to post them here.
  2. I know times are tough for some of us .. I have a size 7 Cabella's youth waders with boots attached that are in Very good condition. If anyone can use them ,they are yours just let me know. His reply was I don't know if we have that much time Dad.. Out of the mouth of babes..Always the truth. God Bless!!!

  4. Thank you Mike for all you have done over the years in the ISA!! Your name has become synonymous with ISA conservation efforts as well as being a positive force at each and every event I have ever attended and you were present. The children at your house won't be young for long so enjoy every moment you can with them, God Bless you and your family and have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, Kevin Summers
  5. Is there any chance the Apple will come down enough to fish by Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday of the upcoming week. I never fished it before and I a little bummed out that it got as pounded as it did... but that is the way mother nature rolls. Just looking for an educated guest , if its not going to be fish able I'll leave the waders and boots at home. Thanks Kevin
  6. Thank you for the info... I appreciate the help on the Apple, it will be my first trip out there, your comments and imput are greatly appreciated. Kevin
  7. Looking for some access points besides the state park to do some wade fishing. Anyone want to share some techniques or feedback on what works in the apple would be appreciated. I have done some on-line reading and I am pretty confident that the Apple will be running a bit clearer barring rain then the Fox. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
  8. I received Tim Holschlag's book River Smallmouth Fishing for Fathers day and I must say it is an enjoyable read . There are a lot of chapters and even if you have this Smallmouth thing all figured out.... (LOL & LMAO) it gets you thinking about what your doing and what he is suggesting. A little bit of everything in here from boat rigging , favorite lures and reading river strucuture. I believe he has taken stuff he has written from his other 2 books and added some content into this book. Not a lot of good river smallmouth fishing books out there but I would say this is worth the money.
  9. I will weigh in John, YikeS !!! I am pushing 220. ON a serious note, though I haven't crossed over to the dark side I can't help but notice how much time and effort you have been putting in for your group. I also have seen your name and face at the fishing outings so I thought I would offer a heartfelt word of thanks for your time and commitment to ISA. Kevin Summers
  10. Scott, not to be a pain but if you can would you send me the info on the guided trip from the blowout. I've been limited to weekends but with fall coming up and the water at low level it is the best time to get out and fish the Fox. Thanks kevin
  11. Mike I am ALL about the sportsmanlike Thang, but given the choice of Lip- Hooking 16 inch SMBs on the Fox or catching Zilch... I break out the crawlers.
  12. Lunkers love nightcrawlers.. forgot the author's name but the title says it all. I have also read that nightcrawlers smell like crayfish which at this time of year is a major forage for smallies. When things SLOW down I am not too proud to pull out the octopus hooks and crawlers and catch bass when nobody else seem to be doing much.
  13. Thanks Scott!!! I had it in my wallet but I took in some water while wading in June at 2000cfs. I was only about 6 feet from shore and confirmed what I had assumed as a fact(there was a big hole in front of that big rock that usually holds a nice fish. Travel safe, Kevin Summers
  14. I was hoping someone could send me some contact info on the gentleman who won this year's trip. I have been trying to get everyone scheduled for this season but with all the high water this seasonI have had a lot of cancellations and DO NOT want the Isa member to get put on the back burner so Pm me or post please so we can get a date set. Thanks Kevin
  15. I would like to attend if there is room... Thanks Kevin
  16. I echo Rich M's sentiments entirely!! Thanks to all who worked and gave of their day so others (ME) could enjoy the great fellowship of other anglers. It was great to see all of you after the winter, and to meet others who love Smallmouth fishing. Thanks to Matt who won my outing on the Fox, we will have a great day fishing the Fox.. Take care see you at Bass-pro for Bob Long. Kevin Summers aka The Fishin Musician
  17. Jim, I have an older Lowrance model LCD with a flasher and normal views screen. I have it in a box I built out of 1/2 inch plywood (marine) I believe. It is a bit heavy but if you pull it around on a sled its not too bad. Its powered by a dry cell battery which I have trickled charged for years. I have a clamp set up which I bought at Ed Shirley's It is somewhat of a brand name set up, though off the top of my head I can't remember the brand. I made a few adjustments and it works great on rentals. When ice fishing though my locator says it runs in real time it is a bit behind, however in flasher mode I can see crappies coming up to the jig (quite exciting) and it is a good tool once you learn its nuances. I paid close to $300.00 dollars in 2000 for the whole set-up, the main thing is getting the transducer to shoot straight down, I haven't a level on mine but that will do the trick, I usually just leave the clamp gizmo on a 5 gallon bucket and shoot it down the whole. Shabbona at night sounds like a great idea I'm sure there will be a lot of different set-ups to check out.
  18. I voted , Tell Gabe Good Luck and start NETWORKING!!!
  19. NORM, I don't think thats possible, Don is a Clam Magnet!!!! Hello.... Don
  20. I echo Gary and Mikes sentiments!!! Congratulations Don, And Thank You for leading the way for the Isa!!!
  21. John, I am planning on being there, The water is dropping though a bit slow for my tastes. 2240 cfs at last look . See ya soon Kevin
  22. Brian, I won a Jim Grandt rod at the Arlington show a few years back. I was working the Isa booth and was told I won a rod so off I went to retrieve my prize. It blew up on me when I hooked into a huge carp but Jim Grandt gave me a new rod the following year and it has been fantastic. It is on the lower end of the price scale. I believe its an all American rod. Medium light but it will handle all the river fish with ease and has a fast tip for Jigging. I used to Love my 6'0 Falcon low rider but I've been spoiled on the Better feel of this Grandt rod. have fun shopping!!!!
  23. Don, Though the water is dropping as Scott has pointed out it is still very dingy. With the bridge construction there is a lot of silt so it seems to take a bit longer to clear up then in the past. I haven't waded across river yet still a bit rough for my liking... so I'd lean on cancelling this weekend , Just my 2 cents, Kevin
  24. I can work the show Sunday March 2, 11:00am Till 2:00 PM. I hope this helps out a bit. Kevin
