In other words, be sure to pause on the backcast before you bring it forward. Wait for the line to load. I really don't think about it to much now, but sometimes, usually when fatigue starts setting in at the end of the day, my cast starts getting sloppy. Mike G Posted August 14, 2017 Report Share Posted August 14, 2017 After tying a clouser on a jig hook, i have not used a straight hook ever again. #10 to #6 is my hook size preference.IMG_2840.JPG A lot of people like the 60 degree hooks for Clousers and similar flies. Posted August 14, 2017 Report Share Posted August 14, 2017 I had a bunch of 60's leftover that I used for tying Fodders and they worked well for the Clousers as I like to tie them in larger sizes.
