The Kish is a very shallow river and they always seem to be tempted to come up to the surface. Cold, high water forces me to go to a clouser, but I'm never pleased about it.

I'm with Jude.

Fly rod - poppers and clousers

Spin gear - tubes and poppers.

Anything else will just exercise your casting arm.

My list has probably changed a bit over the last 10 years.

 

1) suspending jerkbait - cold clear water - favorite brand = lucky craft pointer

2) walk the dog topwater - late spring & fall - favorite brand = lucky craft sammy

3) popper - summer - favorite brand = chug bug

4) hula grub - late spring through early fall - favorite brand = chompers

5) senko style plastic - anytime - favorite brand = bass pro stick-o's

for fly rod shannon streamer, satin shads, hover craw fly, mom's mad leech , ultimate worm

Just 5 huh... these are somewhat seasonal also. Mine add up to lucky 13.

 

1. square bills - various size/brands with lucky craft being favorite thus far

2. suspending jerkbait - various size/brands with lucky craft coming in first again

3. topwater-sammy

4. swim jig

5. tube...

 

Alternates, spinnerbait, buzzbait, poppers, lipless rattlebait, hula grub, lizard, stickbaits, swimbait
