Kishwaukee River Grant Update and Photos

Received an update on this project that the ISA helped to fund.
The rock is awaiting a final permit process from the SWCD, then this will be a go.

Illinois Smallmouth Alliance Grant Proposal:
South Branch Kishwaukee River Stream Bank Improvements
DeKalb County Forest Preserve District

Project goals: will reduce erosion, stabilize stream bank, improve water quality
and aquatic habitat.
Project location: South Branch Prairie Forest Preserve.

Grant money will be used for material ( rip - rap ) only. Forest Preserve staff and
contractor will perform work on sharp bend and steep bank at the South Branch
Prairie, adjacent to Russell Woods Forest Preserve in northern DeKalb County.

This project will be similar to the ISA / Forest Preserve grant at Potawatomi Woods
forest preserve in 2011
