Kev-mo
Looks like I am able to attend this guided tour which is conducted by a non-ISA member. Wonder if the river is flowing...?

Scott Ferguson
Very good presentation by Jessi DeMartini, the Research Center Coordinator, about the restoration of the West Branch of the DuPage after the thorium cleanup. Very impressive and interesting to see the extra improvements made possible by the efforts of the Jessi and the other DuPage County staff. They got a lot more improvements to the river than would have happened if they were not so diligent in their pursuit of a better river. Here are a couple of photos Ed Buric took while we were there. Kev-mo
As Scott said it was a good presentation and greatly exceeded any preconceived expectations I had for the outing. It was refreshing to hear someone speak with such passion about their work. Learned a lot plus Jessi was pretty funny at times!
John Loebach
She is passionate about the river & improving it. Great start to the years events, Ed!
Mike Clifford
Thanks for the excellent effort you put into organizing this, Ed. Looks like the start to a very fruitful relationship with our peers in conservation.
CHolderness
Thanks for organizing this, Ed. Very informative. I didn't realize how much extra effort the DuPage County Forest Preserve staff did with the cleanup of the West Branch. The overview of the mussel propagation project was interesting too. There was a brief Illinois Natural History Survey report on mussels a few months back that touched on things Jessi DeMartini was explaining to us. http://wwx.inhs.illinois.edu/files/3214/1176/1380/INHS_Reports_October_2014_Mussels.pdf Craig
