The Jackson Kayak Fishing Team Has A New Member

15 March 2013 - 09:43 PM

Unfortunatley it's not Terry Dodge and his new Coosa. :(   Instead they got Jim Sammons. This is pretty cool news if you're someone who likes Jackson Kayaks.

Midwest Kayak Anglers

14 March 2013 - 09:16 PM

Colin Belle, of Hobie Fishing Team and Paddle and Trail, has started a new group called Midwest Kayak Anglers. So far 44 people have joined up since it was started in February of this year. If you are someone who enjoys kayak fishing or are just getting into it, this group is a great way to meet other kayak anglers. This is not a fishing club. There are no commitments or cost in joing the group. The way it works is simple: Colin, or other members of the group suggest a get together of some kind and if it's something you're interested in you attend. If not, don't go. So far he has organized several events including  Kayak Fishing Milwaukee Harbor, Rod Building Class, and Salmon Trolling Techniques From Around Lake Michigan just to name a few. This may be a good way to meet other anglers and introduce them to the ISA. The group is sponsored by Tackle Grab and Paddle and Trail who offer discounts if you are a member of the group. Check it out.

River Bassin Challenge 2013

09 March 2013 - 09:25 PM

Third Annual River Bassin Challenge

Coming back for year three on July 27, 2013 in Aurora, IL! The River Bassin Challenge is a unique conservation minded, paddle-powered or shoreline only fishing event, with a catch-measure-photo-release format that promotes sustainability within the environment. Anglers can fish in rivers or streams in a large region of Northern Illinois (see map) beginning at dawn the day of the tournament. Measure and take photo of your fish and release it back into the water for future generations to enjoy. After spending the day fishing on their choice of waters, anglers check-in at Paddle and Trail of Aurora at 4pm with anglers submitting photos of their best 3 fish on a camera memory card. Enjoy some food and drink and share stories while we wait for the results. Cash and product prizes in all divisions. Youth, Team and Individual divisions.

Check it out!
