  • 2 weeks later...

John,

I'm so looking forward to this show. I definitely plan on being there. Great work on setting up a quality event again.

I'm hoping to be over in Indy in the next week or two and will take some flyers over to the three flyfishing shops to be posted.

Thanks again for your fine efforts.

Rob

Now that our October meeting is behind us I would like to encourage everyone to help John Loebach make a sucess of the Early Show. John puts in a huge amount of time and effort into this event and deserves all the help that we can give him.

Even if you yourself do not fly fish you can still learn a lot at this event because in the end it is still about smallmouth fishing and conservation

May someone please assist me in what would be the easiest way to arrive there if coming from the south on 294? Also, is the interchange now available directly between 57 and 294 or do I still have to go east from 57 onto I 80 to get on 294 as in the past.

Thanks

While I have not been to the 294 / 57 interchange they have announced that it is now fully operational.

Going North on 294 you want to exit at Ogden avenue or rt 34 ( that is the next exit past the I 55 interchange ) and then turn left ( West ). Proceed about a mile or so West to the rt 83 North ramp and proceed North on rt 83. Stay in the right lane for about a half mile to the 31st street exit. Turn left ( West ) and stay in the left lane.Proceed about a quarter mile to the second left turn and you are there. You will be able to see the sign at that point.

I Look forward to seeing you there

Urbana-Champaign. Memphis. New Orleans.

Whether you're a fan of the Illini, Elvis or jazz, your next drive south will be faster and more convenient with the opening of the new, all-electronic interchange at the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and I-57.

The I-294/I-57 Interchange now provides access between these two interstate highways for the first time. It represents the Illinois Tollway's fourth all-electronic interchange and the first all-electronic interchange on the Tollway system to connect

What an outstanding show ! It was well worth my 3 hour drive just to get there.

John, you did an excellent job with this Fly Fishing Exhibition and deserve all the accolades for pulling this off. Kudos also go out to all those those that helped out. Ed B, Eugene, Scott F, Tom L, Rich, and too many others to name. The three presentations that I caught were all very well done and very informative. Also maybe the best entomology exhibit on aquatic insects that I have ever seen. Lots of great deals on merchandise as well and so if you didn't attend this year, you really missed out. Below are just a few photographs that don't begin to catch all the "stuff" that was there.

Rob, Ed and John,

Here is one more picture from the show. My only complaint is the hours of show. I got home in time to watch the Bears-Packers game.

Thanks to all who made this show happen, and especially to John for putting forth the initiative and taking what I am sure was a lot of his personal time. Also thanks to John's wife Pat for her support and sacrifice. Don't know how you can possibly outdo yourself next year John... This event was FANTASTIC and you couldn't have picked a more perfect venue!!!! or day for that matter.
