I have just been made aware that Rocktown Adventures will be offering instruction on how to properly handle a fishing kayak should any one be interested:

Have you found yourself fishing from the banks of a river or shores of a lake, wishing you could access that honey hole? If you answered yes, then a fishing kayak may just be the answer for you. Don’t worry if you are new to paddling as we have a class to teach you how to effectively paddle a fishing Yak! Come join us on Sunday September 7th for our Intro to Kayak Fishing class. There is more to paddling a kayak then simply putting a paddle blade in the water and pulling it back. Learn how to paddle and control a fishing kayak to help you with the one thing we all want…..CATCH MORE FISH!

After this two hour class you will confident in your ability to maneuver a kayak by learning:

  • Basics of efficient paddling
  • How to anchor your kayak in Rivers
  • How to self rescue – sit on tops and other kayaks
  • River vs. lakes and how to negotiate
  • Tips for maneuvering your kayak while in the heat of battle

Meet at Rocktown Adventures of Aurora at 10:00 am (class will be done in time to catch the Bears!). We will launch using the canoe launch in downtown Aurora and paddle the Fox River. The price for this experience is $40 and includes kayak, paddle, pfd, and some good knowledge you can take with you on the water. For those that have their own vessel but want to improve your paddling skills, the price is $20. Give us a call at 630-506-5706, shoot us an email at info@rocktownadventures.com, or send us a message via Facebook to reserve your spot. Class is limited to 8 participants so do not delay!

Location posted above is correct. Do not go by location in the Bronzeback Magazine.

Kevin Versino from Rocktown Adventures will be in attendance for this event and is willing to bring fishing kayaks for ISA members to rent if they would like to go in a kayak. For more info you can contact Kevin at....
