Hello and Introduction

Just wanted so say a quick hello and tell you all a bit about myself.

My name is Sean Hansen and I am the Fishing Manager at the Orvis Store in Downtown Chicago. Getting in touch with ISA is long overdue and I apologize for that.

I've been fishing for as long as I can remember and fly fishing for roughly 18-19 years now. I hail from the east coast but have lived in WI the vast majority of my life. While persueing my degree in Fisheries Biology I worked for the Fly Fishers up in Milwaukee which is where my guiding and fly tying career got started as well. After college I spent two seasons guiding for trout in Missoula Montana. During the off season I returned to the midwest and guided part time for everything WI ha to offer from trout to Musky. I am also a fly designer for Rainy's Fly Company, the call us "Fly Innovators".

If there are any fly fishing related questions don't be afraid to ask me or TimA which has been a member here for a long time.

Tim brought to my attention there is a cast and compare this weekend. I can't make it as I will be holding a class up in WI but Tim will be there with a number of rods to cast.

Sean

Hello and welcome. While I'm not a fly fisherman, I frequented the Orvis store quite a bit when I worked on Ohio Street in downtown Chicago. It was a welcome break from the concrete jungle and I always had fun browsing around!

Hi and welcome, Sean,

I have been tying for 60 years. First fish on a fly 67 years ago. Lefty has me beat with catching his first Smallmouth on a fly coincidentally 67 years ago. My first one on a fly was 51 years ago. But what is in a number?

I'm just trying to figure out why you left Missoula, MT! Just kidding, my parents and sis live in Missoula, so I have a place to visit and fish every year, but its a little easier to make a living here in the Midwest! The rainbow in my profile pic is from the bitteroot on a float a few years ago. Ryan
